AIPP Awards 2008 - Winners announced!

The winners of the inaugural AIPP Awards were announced on Friday 3rd October.

Launched this year, the AIPP Awards aim to improve the overseas property industry as a whole, and ultimately raise the standards of customer service. They focus on the selling and business skills of agents and developers analysing key elements of due diligence processes, staff training and marketing.
The awards were judged in two rounds, firstly by a panel of industry experts and secondly, by impartial professionals with some knowledge of property. The two panels worked to a scoring format to produce meaningful results and a benchmarking process.
The AIPP will provide each entrant with an individual report including feedback along with suggestions to improve the business, if applicable. This document is intended to give even those that did not win something useful to develop their business and drive the industry forwards.
Christopher Hamer, Ombudsman for Estate Agents and Chair of the second judging panel comments, “In my view awards such as these contribute to higher standards of business operation and most importantly to customer service. ”
Paul Owen, CEO of the AIPP says, “The AIPP Awards have been set up to reward agents and developers who do exactly what they say they will for their clients, and do it well.
“The current difficult market presents an opportunity for agents and developers to set themselves apart from the competition. Indeed, it has never been more important for an agent or developer in the international property sector to have their own house in order, and to ensure their business practices match consumer demand and deliver value to a demanding client base. I am confident that the AIPP Awards will continue to drive standards upwards as well as celebrate excellence and encourage its attainment.”
The awards were open to all AIPP members. There were nine categories and nine winners with no runners up (though there was a shortlist in each category).
